Gold leaf Fendi 2012 gold leaf makeup by pat McGrath

Holly Fulton - aw2016 makeup by Sam bryant

We followed the Fendi look as inspiration.

Holly used these face products in her demo ;

Mac studio fix foundation

Mac mineralise concealer

She set the makeup with Rodeal translucent HD powder in areas where she wanted to mattify - under the eye, T zone, nose ect ..

Leaving the cheek bones out in order to leave that natural glow. For contour she used some foundation. This was to keep it as natural as possible. Vaseline on the lips just for a nice glow.

Holly showed us how to remove the gold leaf for the paper. It's very messy and quite hard to use. Always use a brush to remove the gold leaf and not your fingers as its way too sticky. Holly brushed on some Mac water based mixing medium on the eye where she wanted the gold leaf. She then cut out the gold leaf into her desired shape with the two pieces of paper still stuck to the gold leaf so that her fingers weren't touching the gold leaf. She then removed the back piece and stuck it straight on whilst dabbing it with the front paper to stick and removing any pieces she didn't want. If you want it to cover the brows, best is to apply some Vaseline before hand as it doesn't tend to stick to brows very well. She then removed the top paper and used a flat brush and tapped on the gold leaf for it to stick. Using Mac black track, holly applied a thick / rounded liner to replicate the Fendi look. The look is quite empty underneath the eye so we didn't use any products for the under eye, just some mascara on the top lashes. Finally, she buffed the gold leaf with an eye shadow stiff brush. This was to break the gold leaf up a little bit and not have it look like a block. Below is her final look (not very good lighting for the picture) -

I also worked on the same model as Holly. I did the other side (left side) of her face but I kept on Holly's side and just added / adjusted it slightly to match the left side I did.

Below are pictures of the final look I created -

Final result ;

I used the exact same products as Holly did. The thing I would change is taking the gold foils further into the inner corner of the eye as I feel like I just cut it off before and the Fendi look brings it down further. However, overall I am very happy with the way it turned out and I feel like I achieved a pretty similar look to the fendi one we were refering to.
