Colour and Texture (Glitter)
Runway trends Colour beauty makeup focusing on the colour and texture.
We looked at this photo below -

Which is by Pat Mc Grath. The aim was to re create this look in our own way.
We spoke about different Mixing mediums ;
Eyeliner mixing medium for glitter on the eye
Water base mixing medium - for the face because you can't really use alcohol products on the face.
Gel base mixing medium - more for body. It's a bit more comfortable on the skin rather that alcohol. It looks silkier.
Face and body mixing medium
Matte mixing medium and
Shiny mixing medium (it's like Vaseline)
How to create this look -
For this look we used masking tape to create a clean cut crease edge.
Place it where you want the sharpe edge to be. Using a cream base product on first and buffing it on. This is an exaggerated look so take it up high. Then apply a layer of vaseline over that, this is to help the Glitter stick instead of using a mixing medium. Use a flat brush and dip it into a silver pigment or your desired colour. Ontop of that then use a silver fine glitter and apply it in tapping motions. The Vaseline is good as it helps stick and doesn't make much of a mess. Then taking a black glitter, I used Black 3D Glitter by Mac (so did Holly), place this on the outer edge and inner corner (natural contour of the eye) this gives it more dimension. The glitter is always used like an eye shadow instead just pressing it on.
Over this add larger glitters. This makes the look more effective. Do this randomly. Holly then took some eyelash glue at the back of her hand and some large sequins, she used tweezers to put these on. She then used some gold glitter up at the top to give this look a multi tone and makes it look more interesting. This really helped make the look stand out more. Pre mixing the glitters can help creating a multi tone look, I followed the same steps.

Below is a picture of my process ;

The reason for doing the eyes first before the face is because glitter is messy and will fall out so this way you can clean up using a wipe or cleanser before continuing. Although I more likely than not start with the eyes first even If I am using just eyeshadows. I feel like the look keeps cleaner that way.
