In this lesson we were able to either go over some style we were not comfotable with eg blowdry, curly blowdry or hot rollers or else move on. I am pretty confident with what we've learnt in the first term therefore I chose to move on. Kanika told me to try out an Up-Syle and incorporate some sort of plait.

< I found this look and I loved it. Therefore I wanted to do something of this sort with the 3 plaits and then Include an upstyle.
I started off by washing my dolly's hair. I then blowdried it fairly straight in a quick way using larg sections and a paddle brush. Once I did that, I started to plait. My class mate Rosa showed me how to create a cornrow plait. I then tried it out muself on my doll. I think they turned out quite good for a first try. I love plaits however I had never done this type of plait before and I found it quite hard.
After I secured the plaits, I backcombed the front left of her hair to give it some volume followed by brushing it all back straight. I then played along and tried to create some sort of Up-Style without knowing where it was going. I came up with this style shown below.

Overall I am pretty pleased with the way it turned out. I am not used to doing Up-Styles at all and I find them quite hard to keep them neat and tight, however I tried my best. I dont like the way that she still has some hairs sticking out as it makes it look messy and that wasn't the look I was going for.
More Plaits
In our next lesson we were able to create a fashion style with plaits. Since i'm not really good with plaits I decided to go for quite a simple look as I wanted it to look more professional.

I washed and Blowdried my Dolly's hair to give it a clean look. I the parted her hair and used some wax to keep all the fly aways down. I put each equal side up in pig tails. I then wrapped up a small part of her hair around the pig tail to cover the hair band. I also parted each pig tail into two. I braided one of them on each sides into a fish tail plait which took quite a while as it was my first time learning it and I was taking very small sections to great a tight look. Once I finished and secured it, I took the other section and parted it into two, I then used the fishtail plait as the final third section and I braided all three. I am happy with the turn out look as I feel like I managed to make it look neat and professional whilst fashionable. I've seen this similar look on the run way and it caught my eye. However, Next lesson I would definitely like to experiment more and create a more challenging fashionable runway look.
