PPQ AW14 LFW
I am completely mesmerised by this PPQ collection that infused 50’s slick with a punk twist and exquisite fabrics. The show was styled by Calvin Opaleye, hair was styled by Warren Holmes and makeup was by Liz Martins for Bobby Brown. Nails were by Ciate nail ambassador Grace Humphries.

I was first drawn to the evocative footwear by KOS for PPQ. I love the heels with fur coming out of them, they look so funky and are for stylish, classic woman who have an adventurous edge. They also gave me the winter feel. The key focus of their AW14 Collection was on the variety of fabrics and textures, from patent and lace to feathers and sheer. The collection was exciting and flamboyant, sexy, sassy but also delicate at its best. With the femininity of sheer and chiffon to the patent and leather, You could tell that the collection was very London-inspired: beehive hair and large sunglasses styled with contrasting metallics, British punk culture was present.

As you can see the key colours dominating this show were: pastels, metallics and black. So many stunning fabrics featured in this collection: patent skirts and dresses, sheer tops and lace, mohair coats to subtle rose prints and furs this is vintage, rock and glamour intertwined at its best. PPQ are known to immerse both music and fashion; retro light-rock music played as the models walked down the runway

The hair and make-up was very 60s-inspired: winged eye-liner, big hair tied with a scarf with natural make-up. I loved the glossy lips. Some had a pink tone and some had a peachy/orange tone. The eye liner was thick and kind of blended rather than being competely straight. The models had quite a washe dout foundation, groomed brows and a pinky blush.

I loved this collection and catwalk. It kept me wanting to see more and more. The models just look so cool and glamorous. The brains behind PPQ are Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker who launched the label PPQ creating the inimitable style that continues to set the beat for London’s fashion drum today.
