GUCCI – MILAN FASHION WEEK AW14

Back then, Frida Giannini was still Gucci's fashion designer. She really made this show different for Gucci in a good way. Warm big fur coats that gave a delicate twist to the soft colored two-piece suits balanced sobriety and modernity. The high waist short dresses combined with high shiny boots kept where elegant but fine at the same time thanks to the pastel shades that were constantly used. But the show was full of details that made the difference: the added ruffles to the shirts, animal prints in every item and leather applications that embellished elegantly insinuating gowns. As the show went on, the light colors became darker and the combination between sparkling crystals and leather dresses was the highlight of a catwalk that revived the glamour of such a memorable decade.

As for the make-up, it's my favourite look of this fashion week.

I feel like it was done beautifully and as soon as you notice the make-up you immediately assosiate it with the 60s. Below is a picture of twiggy with her signature make-up look.. you have definitely see that it was inspired by her.

Seems like for the face they used medium coverage and blended it out well enough to look asif the models are naturally flawless. The all have a slight contour and bare lips. The eyebrows are brushed out to their natural shape and filled in lightly. Also with a night highlight. However, the focus is definitely on the eyes. They have bottom lashes applied and white eyeliner in their waterline. They also have light top lashes applied to go with the bottom ones. You can see in the 3rd photo of the gucci models that they had top eyeliner and bottom with a slight flick. This look gives them a 'doll' like appearance which is what they were going for.

As for the hair, it was parted off central more towards the left side. They also had a few strands from the front taken back and clipped behind. This gave them a pretty look whilst keeping it subtle and easy yet classy.

I feel like their cloths were the most relatable to high street. I love the dresses, fur coats and boots they showed and I would definitely wear them out!

The look above is my favourite look from this show. I love black and white together. It is classic and beautiful. The flowy dress with high boots makes it more wearable. We definitely have seen more high boots worn with dresses this year.

Over all I think that they did this show perfectly and it is definitely one of my favourites as I actually find the clothes relatable unlike some other lines. One thing which I have to point out is that some of the top fake eyelashes were not stuck on properly and you can see them lifting from the inner corner of the eye! They definitely need to get that fixed and should have paid close attention to this as if it is noticed, it looks really tacky and may spoil the look.
