Emilio Pucci SS15 MFW
This has to be my favourite show. The dresses shown, I find very relatable to what I wear in the summer months back at home in Malta. It is kind of bohemian and hippy and I love it! Yes it's another 70s inspired summer show to add to the long but Pucci has a legitimate clam to this territory, as the late 60s and 70s was when this colorful house exploded onto the collective fashion psyche. Peter Dundas was the Artistic director for this collection and he says he wanted colour, fun in summer nights and things that give out a happy vibe - which I think was a success.
"Let's start with the end of this show because that was truly where this collection took off. Dundas came up with the idea of blending iconic Pucci prints with tie-dye patterns and the psychedelic poster art of his chosen era. The combination made for some killer silk maxi dresses."
The designer crafted them with bold jeweled necklines that linked the fabric to the body, or stitched the silk onto beaded bra tops or simply gathered the fabric at the neck.
Their tanned supple skin and sun bleached hair will be made more beautiful by his colorful Boho ensembles. I love the messy wavy hair and the fact that it is'nt perfect. It seems to have been done with a large curling wand and left on for minimal time and then spread out messily once done. it Really completes the boho summer look. Also the makeup is lovely. The blush really stands out and screams summer. For me summer is the month which I wear least make-up, just some eyeliner, blush and lip gloss. This is what seems to have been done for this look. Some bottom eye liner and some in the lid to make their eyes looks larger. They seem to have a fairly matte foundation however some nice highlight on their forhead, bridge of their nose and cupids bow. The lips seem to have a light gloss on.
I absolutely LOVE the native american patterns and colours used in the dresses and jumpsuits. Such fun and bright (gypsy) yet toned down colours. Laid back yet beautiful look. I love that the girls are all of different kinds. All very glamorous and very strong girls.
